1st Booranga Monthly Writers’ Meeting for 2009!

Well, the title of this post says it all. Come along to the 1st meeting of the year on the second Staurday of the month, 14th February, 2-4pm, at the Booranga Writers’ Centre.

The format remain unchanged: bring along some of your new work (any genre – but not too long) to share with the group. Everyone attending during 2008 has found this a worthwhile way to get some feedback on their works-in-progress.

In honour of Valentine’s Day, we will be looking for writing inspired by ‘Love’. That’s right, ‘Love’. But don’t let this put you off – come along with whatever you have bubbling at the moment. And bring along any of your friends that might not be members yet as they can join up on the day.

Hi Derek and everybody. Whoohoo! Our own blogsite – thanks Derek. I’ve been having one of those mornings (supposedly of marking) interrupted by having to phone Bigpond to get my laptop internet connection restored – it’d dropped out through the week – I still don’t know why. Very frustrating not to be able to use the internet/laptop in my study at home. The signal is pretty low, but at least I have it! Something about myself??? Hmm, probably most know me, so how about I just write that yesterday I sent the final substantial bit of the contents of ‘fourW nineteen’ to our designer, Adam Bell who’s putting it all together and says he’ll have something as a draft of the final by tomorrow night. Hopefully we’ll be able to get it to the printer this coming week. There are some really great poems and short stories in this issue – I’m sure you’ll be delighted and surprised (and maybe challenged) – when you see a copy, you can use this blog to write something about a piece that really strikes you.

Now I should get back to marking my students’ poetry anthologies and journals… Have a good week(end)
